CRAWL Movie Update…
Some pictures from Blackwatch Studios today where we are working on the sound edit for CRAWL.

CRAWL sound score DAY 02
DAY 3 SOUND mix for the movie CRAWL
DAY 2 sound for the movie CRAWL

Late night on sound level mixing - another day of that today before heading into score. Level mixing may not be the sexiest job on the planet - but it sure as hell makes a MIND-BLOWING HUGE difference in the movie. HUGE. Excited to hit the ground running today - but I must say - not being able to wake up at 3 a.m. and fire up my personal edit studio has been an adjustment for me lol - I find myself searching the internet for 24 hour coffee shops and pacing the floor a bit as I wait for the sun to break so I can get back to work on CRAWL. Can’t say enough so far about Jarod and Blackwatch Studios - not sure that the 3,000 plus sound clips on this project have been overwhelming to them/Jarod or not - but his drive and work ethic sure doesn’t show it if so. I’ve received many emails asking about their services - so far I’d say this: If you’re doing a film - I’d have to put Jarod/Blackwatch Studios at the top of a very very short list of profesional sound/score companies that I would ever let touch my film - or yours. If after this project they are willing to do another film - I’ll pass along information for you to contact them and ask about their services. I’m not gonna lie people - sound is a TON of work. A TON - and - VITAL. In the end - as I watch footage as Jarod grapples with each clip of sound - I have to say - I simply can not wait to get this film out and in the hands of film fans - and I truly mean that. The performances are great! A huge nod to all the actors and crew for putting their soles into the film. More updates/vids and pics today of the sound creation for the movie over on the http://www.facebook.com/2FILMMAKERS2JOURNEYS FB page - now I’ll drink some more coffee and get ramped up for the studio doors to open - the hours don’t click away fast enough ;-)
On March 25th 2010 I sat down to write the script for the horror thriller film CRAWL — today March 26th 2012 - I am heading this morning to the sound studio to have the score created and mixed - a long journey - but worth every single minute of the path. Stay tuned today - and all this week for exclusive videos of Nikki and I working with Jarod Evans at Blackwatch Studios! BOOM! Almost there baby - almost there ;-) Be sure to sign up and become a member HERE http://www.oklahomaward.com/ for exclusive MEMBERS only updates for the movie CRAWL in the coming weeks ;-)
Loved this part of this movie. Loved it!

“…I have always had two sides to me, the desire to make personal films, but I also have the capacity to make very simple high concept genre movies. Both of us have taken that approach with SCREEN and CRAWL The king of American indies used to have that approach. John Cassavettes woiuld act in movies like The Dirty Dozen, then shoot his indie flicks from that money and profile he created.
Anyway, Oak and Nicole packed up their lives in LA and moved to Oak’s parents in Tulsa to prepare to shoot CRAWL. They had a studio built in the back yard late 2011. This was financed from a small amount of investment they raised, then the plan was to build the tunnels inside the studio. Almost 100% of the film would be shot in there. “
